Abstract

Using name to refer to a specific computer on a network is a more human legible abstraction of a machine’s numerical addresses (IP addresses), and since the number of machines continue to increase, there become a need of a great number of name servers over the Internet. A problem will now arise in handling this large number of name servers. This problem was solved by using DNS (Domain Name System) that maintain and organize name space of the Internet by mapping the name servers to appropriate Internet Protocol addresses, but the DNS is now vulnerable to a wide range of attacks. White Hat hackers are having their fight against black hat hackers to defend the privacy of large number of computers.
