Abstract

Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX) is a web development technique that focuses on creating more interactive, responsive, and fast web application. Using a combination of existing technologies, the AJAX technique enables data exchange from the server to the client to happen without the need of refreshing the whole web page. AJAX applications, being able to deviate from the normal processes involved in standard web applications, have some advantages such as increase in interactivity and faster application run time. However, these types of application may also exhibit some disadvantages such as lack of usability, and network issues such as network latency due to excessive network traffic.
