Abstract

A user should keep his or her password private to protect a system from malicious attack. Unfortunately, despite many different security measures employed to keep them at bay, attackers still manage to force their way into the system. These individuals capitalize on the fact that users usually choose passwords that are easy to remember but easy to guess. Carefully chosen passwords that are low-risk could cause inconvenience to the users. This seminar will discuss solutions to common forms of guessing attack that can maintain both system security and user convenience.
