Augmented reality research wins NCITE 2008 Best Paper Award

The research paper entitled Enhancing Theater Performance Using Augmented Reality by Kevin Christian D. Palis, Aaron M. Medina, Vladimir Y. Mariano and Margarita C.S. Paterno presented as an oral paper during the 6th National Conference on Information Technology Education (NCITE 2008) wins the Best Paper Award. The paper bested 12 other oral papers presented during the conference attended by delegates, IT educators, and IT administrators from several higher education institutions and companies.

Three ICS Research Papers Published in the Philippine IT Journal.

Three ICS research papers presented during the 6th National Conference on IT Education (NCITE 2008) were published in the second issue of the first volume of the Philippine Information Technology Journal (PITJ). The journal is jointly published by the Philippines Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) and the Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP).

Four ICS research papers to be presented at the 2008 NOCEI Research Forum

After rigorous review by the members of the NOCEI Steering Committee, four ICS research papers have been accepted for oral presentation at the 2008 NOCEI Research Forum which will be held in Batangas State University, Alangilan, Batangas on 21 November 2008. The following papers will be presented in two different fora:

Automatic Characterization of a Friendster Network Using a Data Mining WebBot by C.C.P. Arevalo and J.P. Pabico (Forum: Mathematical and Computing Sciences)
Primal and Dual Neural Models for Correlating [Co] and [Ni] with the Absorbance Profile of Co-Ni Mixture by E.R.E. Mojica , J.P. Pabico and J.R.L. Micor (Forum: Mathematical and Computing Sciences).
